India’s popular micro-SUV is getting a refresh. The Hyundai Exter facelift could launch around mid-2026, bringing updated design, new tech, and smarter features.
Since launch, the Exter has been one of Hyundai’s most affordable SUVs. But competition from Tata Punch and other rivals means a facelift is coming at the perfect time.
The facelift may debut a 12.9-inch touchscreen paired with a 9.9-inch digital instrument cluster. It could also run Google’s Android Auto OS, allowing OTA updates and app support.
The refreshed Exter could become the first mass-market car in India with this advanced infotainment system. Expect smoother navigation, Google services, and smarter connectivity.
Spy shots suggest the facelift may include: • New grille design • Updated bumpers • Fresh alloy wheels • Tweaked LED lighting The signature H-shaped DRLs will likely stay.
The facelift is expected to keep the current engine options: • 1.2L petrol engine (83 hp) • Factory-fitted CNG option Manual and AMT transmissions should continue.
Hyundai may add new features like: • Improved interior materials • New upholstery • More safety features • Additional convenience tech All aimed at keeping the Exter competitive.
The current Exter starts around ₹5.6 lakh. With new features, the facelift may cost ₹6.5 lakh – ₹10 lakh (ex-showroom).
Industry reports suggest the facelift could arrive in India by mid-2026. Testing has already begun, hinting that the launch may not be far away.
