KTM has confirmed a more hardcore version of its popular ADV — the 390 Adventure R. And yes, it’s built with serious off-road intent.
Unlike the standard KTM 390 Adventure, the new R variant is expected to focus heavily on dirt performance. This is not just styling — it’s mechanical upgrades.
Expect proper ADV proportions: ✔ 21-inch front wheel ✔ 18-inch rear wheel ✔ Spoke rims ✔ Off-road tyre This setup changes everything on trails.
The 390 Adventure R is likely to get: • Fully adjustable WP suspension • Increased travel • Better ground clearance Serious trail riders will appreciate this.
It will likely use the new 399cc engine seen in the latest KTM 390 Duke. Expected output: Around 45 PS 6-speed gearbox Ride-by-wire throttle More torque. More control. More fun.
Expect a taller windscreen, rally-style bodywork, slimmer seat profile, and aggressive stance. KTM may give it a design closer to their rally machines.
Likely features: ✔ Switchable ABS ✔ Off-road traction control ✔ Multiple ride modes ✔ TFT display KTM rarely compromises on electronics.
The Adventure R could be priced around ₹3.8–4.2 lakh (ex-showroom). It will sit above the standard KTM 390 Adventure. More hardware = higher price.
This bike is for: • Hardcore off-road enthusiasts • Trail explorers • Adventure tourers • Riders upgrading from 250–300cc ADV bike This is KTM going serious.
If KTM delivers proper off-road hardware, the 390 Adventure R could redefine the mid-weight ADV segment in 2026. Adventure just got real. Would you take it to the mountains?
